7月11日 SadIt's a tragedy: the band broke up. Yeah, the kids just couldn't get along. Isn't that always the way? I've tried to stay out it and let them deal with it as kids do. I figure if I put pressure on them to stay together, they won't just to spite me. And in any case you can never tell. The best thing is that my kids have discovered a propensity towards music that can put them on a pretty exciting path in life. Yeah, I'm a little jealous but I can live. The worst part actually is that I've had to call off my class reunion people search. It sounds stupid but I was looking forward to showing off my musically talented kids to all those bozos from high school. Now there's little reason to have a reunion at all because what's the point of inviting your old classmates over if it's not to gloat and feel superior? Since I've called it off however I feel a little bad about having gone through all those marriage records to find them. I had so much dirt! And now I'll never be able to use it. Ugh, maybe I should start my own band. My kids tell me it helps get out their aggression. I need some of that right about now. 6月19日 Party TimeSo the party was amazing! The band went over well and my Jello Sundaes went over even better. Which I felt good about (maybe, a little, but the day really belonged to the band). The kids have definitely gotten the live bug. Now they're practicing every day and cold calling venues. It's pretty inspiring to see, although if they do get a gig I'm totally going to run a background check on the owner. Nobody rips my kids off! I've heard way too many horror stories about sleezy club owners and stuff. I'd rather they just kept playing at home for now. Actually the kids aren't the only ones who've gotten a big kick out of partying; I've been inspired to throw another party, too. This one's going to be a class reunion, if I can find people to attend. It's been longer than I'd like to admit since I was in high school. Do you have any tips about finding your old classmates after years have passed? If not, it's no big deal. I can always throw a different kind of party. God, now I've got the party bug! It is summertime though, so all is forgiven. Bring on the fiestas and the rockin' teenage band! 5月16日 Finding People Who Love MusicAfter many weeks of practicing, the band finally has a gig! Well, sort of. They're playing at my sister's backyard birthday barbecue (a BBBQ!). It's not a paying gig and there aren't going to be agents there or anything, but I think the kids ought to make some noise before a friendly audience before heading out and playing for a disinterested crowd. I still want the kids to think it's a big deal (even if it's not really) so I want to find people to attend. I'm going through my address book, checking out my alumni directory from school, etc. Just regular people. The BBBQ is next month so I have plenty of time to pad out the guest list. I'll definitely be cooking my famous jello sundae for the party! Hopefully the kids have a lot of fun up there, not taking it too seriously. I don't think they should. They're a good band but not all dreams come true. If they get disappointed I'll just show them that there are alternatives to happily ever after. Because there are. Man, can't wait for the party! 4月30日 People Search an Agent?Okay, so after that scam artist dropped by last month, it actually got our kids thinking about wanting an agent. I had to explain to them that an agent is something that you get way, way later in your career - like after you've done a couple dozen gigs and writing your own songs. They don't quite get it. They think you can just do a people search for one, since a people search was how I figured the last one was a fraud. I explained that's not how it works, but I'm having trouble convincing them. I search searching for something I could show them to prove it but I just found sure signs you're dealing with bracket guy, which kind of worked, I guess. Now, I just need some help with how to relieve stress. 3月31日 Band?I mentioned that my kids and my sister's kids and my kids and my step-half-brothers' kids (is that who they are? dear internet, please confirm) are all playing music together in a band. It all seemed like good fun. Then, one day a guy knocked on my door and he introduced himself as an agent/producer/whatever, and he couldn't help but overhearing the noise in the garage - our kids were practicing in there at the time - so he asked if he could just come in to listen to them. He seemed harmless enough, since we live in a pretty nice neighborhood, so, sure, I invited him in. Things started to get a little bit fishy when he was thrilled by their music. He tapped me on the shoulder in the garage, so we went into the living room, and he started gushing, "They're amazing!" he said. "They could be stars!" I asked him for his business card and did a quick people search on him. Sure enough: scam artist. See how useful people search is, being able to do a background search on all sorts of weasels? Hey, did you guys hear about that blogger who pretended to commit suicide? Here's a funny rant to 90 day jane 2月29日 Family and MusicThings are going swimmingly with the extended brood these days. We actually get together, in various combinations, all the time now. And one of the things we've discovered is how much our kids like each other--and like music. So, with America Idol, it's natural that kids all wander around the house singing and playing at rock stars, but I was surprised to discover that my new nieces and nephews also play instruments...and quite well too. So all the kids have gotten together this little band, with of course my oldest as lead singer (and my youngest as the roadie by the look of it). And guess what the kids want to name their band? People Search Engines. They said it's what brought them all together, so it seems appropriate. I made a bid for People Finder but they said they liked the PSA better. So in honor of their new band, I thought it only appropriate to post this link to rant farm - to people search engine. It's been crazy here...but a good kind of crazy. Hope you enjoy the above links! 1月29日 More Family Then I Know What To Do WithOkay, so I realized that it was all a little confusing who was who; my six-year-old was a little confused by all the new aunts and uncles, and I realized after explaining it to her, I should explain it to everyone else. So here is the break down: my dad had a child with another woman before he men my mom. That was the brother who found me and got me into people search (and now has an iPod full of my tunes). His mom had two other children, a set of twins, with another man. Now, technically speaking, the twins aren't actually related to me, but since they are related to my half-brother they feel like family to me. More importantly, when we all get together, we feel like family. So this holiday season, when we all met up at the Grand Canyon, we were one big happy family. It was really great! Having always been an only child, I love having my new siblings, blood related or not. But after the Grand Canyon, we still had all my husband's family stuff to do, and then it was getting the kids back into their school routine, so I apologize for being gone so long. Anyway, I have some good people search stuff for you, including that site. And this person search one too. And finally, something my sister, who is a botanist, sent me, an article on how to go green that I told her I would share. Now I have to get going because I promised my sister we'd do our traditional pre-American Idol phone call to discuss what we think might happen. Okay, so really it's just an excuse to talk, but I really do love that show! 11月28日 Life is too shortHello everyone. Had an awesome time visiting my brother for his birthday, I couldn't go empty handed, so I got him an iPod and fulled it with all my favorite tunes, he loved it. Turns out we have the same taste in music, so it really worked out well. We are planning a family trip to the Grand Canyon next month (before Christmas) which I am really looking forward to. Can you believe I have never made it there, I live so close.... Well I just want to update you all about my awesome life and upcoming plans, and leave you will a couple more links to some people search sites I have found helpful and informational. If you have family members you have been thinking of reconnecting with, I urge you not to delay, life is too short:

He said that he didn't want anything because just getting to meet us was enough of a gift. Please, nice sentiment, but he's getting something. I'm not exactly sure what yet though. I know that we are planning a short trip so we can get some bonding time in, but I still need to get him a present. I actually need to go meet my sister to go to the mall, but I wanted to throw up some sites I found last night when I couldn't sleep. They're really good people search sites, so you should definitely take the time to explore them. Enjoy, be back soon! What a reunion we had. I don't think I will be able to put into words my feelings, I'm not really that kind of girl. But I will say there were lots of tears and it wasn't only my sister and me crying! All my siblings have kids, so with our spouses we had 16 people at the reunion! But the 4 of us did manage to get some alone time too. I've been so busy catching up with family this month, I haven't had all that much time to people search, but I do have one very good people search site to direct your attention to: Person Search. 8月7日 Mich's People Search UpdatesHello all, great news, we found our brother and a sister! they are twins, no wonder our parents were being cagey. They were both adopted but split up. They found each other using the same methods we did - people search engines and have been reunited for quite a few years now. I can't believe I have 2 brothers and a sister, a couple of months ago it was just me. It's so cool. We have a family reunion planned next month, so I will update you on that next month. We can't wait to all meet in person. So I have two more finding people resources to add to my previous list. They have some cool people search tips, check them out. People Search Engines Find Anyone Now 7月18日 O' Brother Where Art Thou?So my new found brother and I have been people searching a lot lately to see if we can piece anymore of our family together. We'd like to have a full set by the time that we are through. Hahaha. But seriously. We're pretty sure there is another one of us....a brother. He has a different mother, we think. We're still trying to put the pieces together, and our parents aren't be cooperative, and we don't understand why. That has been an obstacle. But also, we have both looked up old friends from the past and are almost overwhelmed with new/old friends! We're pretty attached to our people search engines, but we are very open to suggestions, which is why we always look at other people's blogs. Here are some good ones that we think will help you find someone. Find People Prepare for Your Reunion Wish my brother and I luck in finding our long lost brother! 6月14日 Mich's People Search DiggsWelcome

Los Angeles, CA. Since hooking up with my brother, that I
never new existed, I have gotten into this people search thing, it’s really
cool. When I showed an interest, my brother directed me to a couple of blogs to
check out. I got hooked. So I thought I’d share them with you all in case anyone
else is into people search People Search Engines Family Tree Online Background Search These are the people search blogs and sites that got me hooked. They have all the people search news, ways to find someone and people search engine reviews you will ever need to read. 5月1日 People Search? Yes, Please.Hello everyone, and welcome to my first blog. I hope you are as pleased to be here as I am. I feel like a Beastie Boy today. I can't really explain why, but for some reason I want to wear coveralls and rap-talk everything I say. In fact, I'm rapping in my head even as I write this. Can you feel the cadence? I know you can. Don't touch the "x" button - don't go near it. Just play this out with me. See? HA. Moving on. So I had the weirdest experience the other day. I had just gotten home after a long day at work, and my home line was ringing . Now, this is weird enough seeing as no one ever calls me at home. So I pick it up, and there's this guy on the other end of the line who is... wait for it... claiming to be my BROTHER! I'm thinking he's crazy, but then he starts telling me all kinds of things only a brother-type could know! I'm still not convinced so I tell him to hold on while I three-way my dad into the phone call. We get him on the line and my dad explains that before he married my mom there was another baby, but that his girlfriend had run off without warning, and since they didn't want to upset us growing up they just never told us! INSANE! Turns out my brother found us using the internet - namely these two websites: Public Records Now - People Search & People Finder Search Engine Private Eye - Find a Person or do a Background Check I went there and looked him up, and then ended up looking up a few more people. You can search for people there to your heart's content! They have background checks too (which I did on my new "brother" seeing as a girl can't be too safe these days - happily, he was clean), and unlisted phone searches and all kinds of other things associated with their people finder / people search engine. It's really quite amazing. Anyway, we're going to meet this guy next week, and it should be interesting - not that it hasn't been already. I'll keep you all updated. |
